Job Summary
Store Associate at ALDI responsible for merchandising and stocking products, cashiering, and maintaining store cleanliness to ensure a positive customer experience. Duties include operating the POS system, processing purchases, handling cash policies, managing checkout lanes, stocking shelves per merchandising planograms, completing curbside pickup orders, maintaining inventory and loss-prevention efforts, and supporting store management in safety and operational efficiency. Requires strong customer service, basic arithmetic, effective communication, ability to work with others, and adherence to company policies; physical tasks include lifting up to 45 pounds and performing cleaning and equipment operation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Age 18+
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior retail experience preferred
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to operate cash registers and POS systems
- Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks
- Reliable and prompt attendance
- Ability to meet availability requirements
- Physical ability to push, pull, stand, lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to operate equipment like cash register, floor scrubber, pallet jacks
- Capable of stocking product in varying temperatures
