Full-Time Shelter Counselor

Prepare the Nest on 3rd shelter for nightly opening at 9 pm, lead pre-brief huddles, welcome guests, manage waitlists, and conduct new intakes. Serve meals, oversee chores and laundry, enforce shelter expectations, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to emergencies per protocol. Close the shelter, exit guests, and ensure cleanliness before conducting shift debriefs. Enter and manage data in HMIS, conduct program intakes, make referrals, and complete nightly communication logs. Remain alert throughout 8 pm to 8:30 am shifts to provide presence and support to young adults experiencing homelessness across diverse backgrounds. Work three regular overnight shifts weekly with a consistent schedule including weekends.
