Job Summary
Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles by reading service procedures and working off repair orders. Replace parts and components to fix mechanical and electrical malfunctions while maintaining vehicle records through notes and service orders. Lead daily shop organization, clean-up, and equipment troubleshooting, and mentor team members as a subject matter expert. Perform preventive maintenance and follow operating instructions to keep shop equipment functioning. Work the AM day shift with overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly
- Ability to operate shop equipment
- Good attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to mentor and train others
- Own tools with rolling toolbox
- Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
- AM Day Shift availability (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday)
- Availability for overtime when needed
- Availability for weekend work
Desired Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Knowledge of vehicle alignments
- Knowledge of air conditioning (A/C) system repairs
- Knowledge of tire machines and balancers
- Certificate in Diesel Technology or related
- State Diesel Mechanic Certification(s)
