Job Summary
Greet guests with a friendly attitude, answer questions about merchandise, and recommend items based on guest needs. Check out purchases, bag items, and prepare merchandise for alterations while maintaining a clean, organized store. Perform merchandising tasks like handling freight, re-merchandising displays, and completing price markdowns. Open and close cash registers, balance drawers, and make deposits. Recognize and prevent security risks, follow loss prevention guidelines, and handle exchanges and returns. Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Maintain product knowledge, share sales and promotion updates, and meet personal sales goals. Communicate policy violations or guest concerns to management.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the day of/day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based upon store and business needs.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 30lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and jump; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Ability to sit (occasionally required).
- Regularly works in a retail store.
- Moderate noise level in the work environment.
