Job Summary
Sales Specialists at Lowe's are highly active, moving throughout the store or garden center, engaging customers to understand project needs, explain product specifications, features, and financing options, and help close sales. Responsibilities include greeting customers, providing SMART service by discussing needs, scheduling installer visits, processing orders/installations, tracking progress to completion, assisting in pricing and documentation, supporting checkout and store communications, and training/mentoring other associates in the department. The role spans various departments (e.g., Flooring, Appliances, Cabinets, Live Nursery, Millwork, Tool Rental, Pro, Windows & Walls) and may involve external accounts and outside sales in the Pro Department. The posting emphasizes products, services, installation/delivery plans, and customer-focused problem solving in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in customer-facing sales or 6 months Lowe's retail experience (Or 3 years external experience in customer-facing sales or 18 months of Lowe's retail experience if education requirement is not met)
- 1 year of experience in sales or customer service in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics
- Able to Read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
- Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by law in your state (Lowe's will support and fund this requirement)
