Job Summary
Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional service while helping shoppers locate and select home improvement products. Replenish down stock by identifying empty shelf areas and process orders and deliveries accurately to ensure timely receipt. Prepare merchandise based on specific needs, such as mixing paint, cutting pipe, or bundling wood, and cross-functionally train in other store areas. Occasionally load merchandise and guide customers through checkout. Duties may vary by department including Appliances, Nursery, or Hardware. This role involves working in both inside and outside weather conditions with occasional travel for meetings or training.
Required Qualifications
- 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience
- Bi-lingual skills
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
