Job Summary
Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional service while helping shoppers find and select home improvement products. Assist with locating merchandise, loading items, and processing orders and deliveries accurately. Replenish shelves by identifying empty areas, prepare specific department tasks such as mixing paint or cutting wood, and guide customers through checkout. Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support overall customer service. Rotate through departments including Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, and Plumbing based on hiring needs. Perform duties requiring prolonged standing, lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience
- Bi-lingual skills
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
