Job Summary
Welcome customers, answer product questions, and guide shoppers through checkout while assisting with locating and selecting home improvement merchandise. Replenish down stock by identifying empty shelf areas, process orders and deliveries accurately, and prepare specific department tasks such as tinting paint, cutting wood, or bundling lumber. Perform duties including loading merchandise, cross-functionally training in other store areas, and completing other tasks as assigned. This role rotates through departments like Building Materials, Hardware, and Plumbing, requiring associates to work in varying weather conditions and handle items up to 75 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience
- Bi-lingual skills
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
