Job Summary
Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly, professional service while helping shoppers find products for home improvement needs. Locate and handle merchandise, replenish down stock by identifying empty shelf areas, and process orders and deliveries accurately. Prepare department-specific merchandise such as tinting paint, cutting pipe, bundling wood, or cutting drywall based on customer requirements. Cross-functionally train in other store areas and complete other duties as assigned. This role involves rotating through various departments including Building Materials, Appliances, and Tools, with occasional travel to meetings or neighboring stores.
Required Qualifications
- 6 Months Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
- 6 Months Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
- Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction)
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
- Minimally lift 25lbs unassisted or over 25lbs with or without an accommodation
- Travel occasionally to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of Retail and/or customer service experience
- Bi-lingual skills
- Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials)
