Job Summary
Clean and prepare guest rooms by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning carts, and maintain them in a clean, orderly fashion. Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures, often using ladders or stools to reach hard-to-access areas. Wash shower walls, tubs, toilets, and restock towels, soaps, and amenities. Wash hard floor areas by hand, dust and polish furniture, and strip beds to check linens for soil. Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs. Inspect door locks and room equipment like TVs and faucets, reporting deficiencies in writing to the Executive Housekeeper. Maintain custody of keys and supplies, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- Must have basic knowledge of use of cleaning products
- Must have basic knowledge of operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift
- Must be able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout a shift
- Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
- Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during entire work day
- Must be able to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- Must be able to read written instructions and computer print-outs
