Job Summary

Prepare equipment, supplies, and medications for scheduled endoscopic procedures, ensuring rooms are stocked and functional. Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments, establish IV access for conscious sedation, and administer medications while monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Collaborate with providers during procedures to assist with specimen collection, then provide verbal handoffs to recovery staff and deliver post-procedure monitoring and discharge education. Document all activities in Athena and Provation, maintain narcotic inventory logs, and assist with room turnover and follow-up calls. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and at least two years of experience. Located at Canal Landing.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Endoscopy or procedural nursing experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting required
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, start IVs, administer medications, and perform patient care activities
  • Visual acuity required for patient assessment, monitoring equipment, medication preparation, and documentation
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, gowns, and eye protection
  • Ability to maintain concentration and multitask in a fast-paced procedural setting
