Job Summary
Direct and implement physical therapy treatment plans to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and restore muscle function in accordance with each patient's care plan. Conduct thorough evaluations of clients using diagnostic tests to assess muscle strength, joint mobility, and functional abilities. Develop individualized therapy strategies that align with client goals, oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, and document accurate clinical records including progress notes and discharge summaries. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to integrate physical therapy into overall care plans and communicate condition changes to physicians. Engage with clients and families on treatment techniques and home exercises. Schedule is Monday to Friday onsite at our Lakeland, Florida rehabilitation center.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, with expertise in rehabilitation settings
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist in good standing
- Proficient in CPR certification and emergency response protocols
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in clinical documentation
- A commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems for efficient documentation and patient management
- Prior experience in a rehabilitation or outpatient setting
- Knowledge of community resources available for patient support
