Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care including ABG, PFT, ventilator support, oxygen/aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance for adults and neonates. Performs respiratory assessments and treatments under indirect supervision, exercises critical thinking, interprets CXR/ABG/PFT data, maintains equipment, participates in infection control and quality assurance, and supports patient care across age groups in a 12x3 night shift at Methodist Richardson Medical Center's Bush/Renner location. Requires state licensure, NBRC credentialing, BLS/ACLS, and completion of program requirements; NRP/PALS to be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
- NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire
- Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- At least 6 months respiratory care experience is preferred
