Job Summary
Create a safe, nurturing environment for toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being at all times. Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans using Universal Design for Learning and an emergent curriculum focused on nature and loose parts. Guide and scaffold children's learning to support motor skills, language acquisition, and social interaction while encouraging cognitive and physical development. Maintain open communication with parents regarding developmental progress and handle difficult conversations as needed. Keep accurate daily records of meals, naps, and behavior via the Lillio app, and create Individual Support Plans for children with specific needs.
Required Qualifications
- PR status
- Not a student
- Fluent in English (oral and writing)
- Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Minimum 2-year employment experience working with Toddler and Preschool children in a group setting
- Experience in using ELECT and How Does Learning Happen in Emergent Curriculum planning
- All necessary qualifications and credentials as required by the Ministry of Education
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED Certification
