Job Summary
Supervise daily class functions for a group of 3-4 year olds while implementing lesson plans aligned with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum. Assess each child's developmental needs, observe regulatory health and safety rules, and maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom environment. Plan parent-teacher conferences, provide consistent behavioral expectations, and handle maintenance duties for the classroom and playgrounds. Attend required staff meetings and workshops. This role supports social, emotional, and cognitive growth at Primrose School of Wayne, an accredited private preschool offering year-round programs.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
- For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
Desired Qualifications
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
- 2 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred
