Job Summary
Plumber role at Ames CSD involves installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems across district facilities, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage. Responsibilities include inspecting systems for leaks, troubleshooting malfunctions, performing backflow testing, responding to emergencies, maintaining restrooms and kitchens, ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards, assisting with new installations or upgrades, documenting services, maintaining tools, and collaborating with the facilities team. Requires a journeyman license or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, and proficiency with basic computer tools; CDL preferred. This is a full-time position with a 255-day work agreement, located in Ames, IA.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Plumbing License required
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years of related experience and/or training in the field of plumbing
- Must have a clean driving record; valid driver's license is required with a CDL preferred
