Job Summary
Assist licensed Physical Therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans to improve patient mobility and strength. Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities while administering modalities like electrical stimulation and ultrasound under supervision. Educate clients on body mechanics and home exercise programs, then monitor progress by documenting range of motion and functional performance gains. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists to optimize care for pediatric, geriatric, and sports populations. Organize treatment areas and maintain equipment supplies. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in a hospital-based clinic setting.
Required Qualifications
- A completed Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions relevant to physical therapy practices
- Ability to proficiently implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under a licensed Physical Therapist's guidance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach, focusing on empowering patients through their recovery
- Adaptability to work effectively with various patient populations and conditions, customizing care to meet distinct rehabilitation goals
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, necessary for tracking patient progress and managing therapy sessions efficiently
- A commitment to continuous learning and applying the latest advancements in physical therapy practices
