Job Summary
Evaluate patients and establish individualized care plans, then deliver personalized, evidence-based treatments to facilitate movement and enhance functional abilities. Develop and conduct exercise regimens while employing manual therapy techniques to ensure optimal rehabilitation results. Document patient progress diligently, continually assessing treatment effectiveness and reporting on outcomes to refine ongoing care strategies. Motivate and guide patients through their rehabilitation processes to foster independence and self-assurance in movement capabilities. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create comprehensive care plans, advising patients on lifestyle modifications that promote strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Minimize reliance on pharmacological interventions by offering solution-focused alternatives to surgical procedures.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Active licensure as a Physical Therapist within the state of New York
- A clean professional record with no board actions or disciplinary measures
- Proven experience with manual therapy techniques and conducting individualized exercise programs
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, specifically platforms such as WebPT
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
- Prior exposure to home care environments or working directly with patients recovering from surgeries
