Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans focusing on therapeutic outcomes. Deliver skilled therapy interventions using various modalities aligned with physician-prescribed plans for pediatric and adult patients. Evaluate and document functional status while educating families on home exercise programs and device usage. Prioritize caseloads and participate in team meetings to coordinate care transitions and manage daily staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Physical Therapy license
- A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Must be available for onsite work at the rehabilitation facility in Charlottesville, Virginia
- Must be able to lift and handle patients and therapeutic equipment
- Must be able to work with both pediatric and adult patients
- Must be able to work in a team environment with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Must be able to create and implement individualized care plans
- Must be able to engage with patients through various treatment modalities
- Must be able to evaluate and document patients' therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status
- Must be able to deliver skilled therapy interventions
- Must be able to provide education and guidance to patients and their families
- Must be able to prioritize patient caseloads
- Must be able to participate in team meetings
- Must be able to ensure effective care coordination and facilitate smooth care transitions
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of prior experience in physical therapy
- Experience in a rehabilitation setting with a focus on orthopedic and neurological conditions
