Job Summary
Examine and evaluate patients to develop effective treatment plans addressing functional limitations and disabilities. Provide ongoing assessment, education, and reassessment through comprehensive patient evaluations and treatment implementation. Consult with healthcare team members about patients' continuum of care, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to health and rehabilitation. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and billing codes, ensuring compliance with laws and professional standards. Lead and supervise assigned support staff in delivering high-quality patient care while maximizing departmental resources. Engage in departmental management activities such as community outreach, quality improvement projects, and program development. Work onsite at the Rehabilitation Center in Immokalee, Florida, approximately 40 hours a week with some flexibility for variable weekends. Serve a diverse population of patients with orthopedic, neurological, and geriatric conditions, incorporating patient and family involvement in treatment planning and discharge processes.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- A current and valid State License in Physical Therapy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficient word processing and computer skills
- A commitment to continuous professional development through ongoing education and training programs
- a minimum of 2 years of experience in physical therapy
Desired Qualifications
- additional experience in specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or sports therapy
- Experience within a rehabilitation setting
- knowledge of electronic health record systems
