Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients by reviewing medical history, performing assessments, and documenting findings to inform treatment plans. Implement individualized treatment protocols based on evidence, modifying them as needed to adapt to evolving patient status. Provide education to patients and families regarding exercises, pain management strategies, and recovery processes. Maintain meticulous documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, occupational therapists, and home health aides to coordinate care and participate in case discussions. Work onsite in patient homes primarily addressing orthopedic conditions such as post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, arthritis, and chronic pain.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field
- A current and valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- At least two years of experience in the field of physical therapy
