Job Summary
Conduct thorough physical exams and review medical histories to evaluate patients recovering from injuries, diseases, or surgeries. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing exercise therapy, hands-on manual therapy, and advanced rehabilitation equipment. Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting strategies to meet evolving therapeutic goals and improve mobility. Provide education to patients and families on self-care strategies and assistive devices. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss patient progress and ensure coordinated care across disciplines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards through workshops and professional literature.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer software
- Flexibility and an agile mindset
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a practicing physical therapist in a clinical or rehabilitation setting
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Strong mentoring or training experience, particularly with new graduates
