Job Summary
Develop and oversee individualized physical therapy treatment plans aligned with physician directives. Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess joint mobility, muscle strength, and functional performance. Implement therapeutic interventions including manual exercises, traction, and modalities to facilitate recovery. Guide physical therapy assistants in executing prescribed therapies and evaluate home environments to minimize rehabilitation barriers. Regularly document patient progress in electronic health records and adjust care plans based on interdisciplinary team feedback. Participate in clinical meetings to discuss patient care objectives and assist clients and families with equipment usage. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory standards and best practices in physical therapy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
- Minimum of two years experience as a physical therapist in a rehabilitation or home care setting
- Active and valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Automobile insurance
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professional ethics and integrity while engaging with clients and their families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and communication
Desired Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary care setting, particularly in acute care or home health environments
