Job Summary
Implement individualized treatment plans focused on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, and functionality under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities aimed at alleviating pain while administering modalities such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound. Educate patients on body mechanics and home exercise regimens, then monitor and document progress by tracking metrics like range of motion to adjust care effectively. Prepare treatment areas, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, and provide emotional support to diverse patient populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric cases. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in our Houston hospital facility.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current and valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and clinical interventions pertinent to physical therapy
- Proficiency in delivering therapeutic exercises and employing modalities as directed by supervising therapists
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with a healthcare team
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, driven by a genuine desire to aid patients in reaching their rehabilitation goals
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or rehabilitation facility
- Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient management
- Ongoing engagement in continuing education opportunities related to physical therapy trends and best practices
