Job Summary
Implement individualized treatment plans by guiding patients through specialized exercise programs and therapeutic activities to enhance mobility and reduce pain. Administer hands-on manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation exercises tailored to orthopedic recovery needs, while conducting assessments of balance, coordination, and functional abilities. Consistently monitor patient progress and document findings in electronic health records to inform future treatment adjustments. Educate patients and families on rehabilitation strategies and self-management techniques to promote long-term health. Work onsite at the Lee's Summit hospital facility with a Monday-to-Friday schedule or four 10-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Missouri
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience specifically in an outpatient orthopedic setting
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and practical rehabilitation exercises under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate and motivate patients and their families regarding rehabilitation strategies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with patients recovering from orthopedic procedures, such as joint replacement or ligament repairs
- Keen understanding of rehabilitation methodologies specific to outpatient therapy settings
- Capability to work with electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation and progress tracking
