Job Summary
Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from surgery, sports injuries, or age-related challenges. Guide clients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities while educating them on body mechanics and home exercise programs. Administer modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapies under supervision, and maintain meticulous records of patient progress including range of motion and strength gains. Prepare treatment areas, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists, and provide emotional support to foster patient motivation. Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality in a state-of-the-art hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Possession of a valid state license or certification authorizing practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to physical therapy practices
- Demonstrated proficiency in administering therapeutic exercises and utilizing modalities under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care with a commitment to patient empowerment and rehabilitation goals
- Adept at adapting treatment plans to suit varying patient needs and conditions
