Job Summary

Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans and administering therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cryotherapy. Lead patients through prescribed exercises, stretches, and activities while educating them on home care programs and proper body mechanics. Monitor and document patient progress regarding mobility and strength, prepare treatment areas, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care. Provide emotional support to patients recovering from orthopedic, neurological, or post-surgical conditions. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in our Elgin, IL facility, adhering to HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Valid state licensure or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and therapeutic interventions pertinent to physical therapy
  • Proven proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities in collaboration with a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork
  • A compassionate and patient-centered approach, with a genuine passion for helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation goals
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple patient needs
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying aligned with advancements in physical therapy practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting, working directly with patients in therapeutic environments
  • Exposure to various rehabilitation specialties, aiding in a more versatile application of therapeutic techniques
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems used for documentation and progress tracking
