Job Summary
Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator for school-age autistic support; works under classroom teacher and program supervisor to provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support per IEP; requires CPI/SCM/QBS training; must lift and restrain as needed and assist in activities; schedule is full-time, 6.5 hours/day, 185 days/year; prefers high school diploma/equivalency and credential OR equivalent postsecondary experience; duties include verbal communication, data entry, internet/email use, word processing, and spreadsheet skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
- Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators (or willingness to complete within 6 months)
- 2 years postsecondary study with 48 credits OR Associate degree OR other approved assessment
- 20 hours of staff development per school year
- CPI, SCM, or QBS Safety-Care Crisis Prevention training or equivalent
