Job Summary
Full-Time Personal Care Assistant/1:1 Paraeducator (School Age) assigned to provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support under teacher supervision for a school year, with a schedule of 6.5 hours per day, Monday–Friday (185 days/year). Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and CPI/SCM/Safety-Care certification or equivalent, with options including Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators, 2 years of postsecondary study (48 credits), or an associate degree or higher. Responsibilities include supporting instructional activities, managing behaviors, lifting and assisting students (including wheeled assistive devices), and ensuring safety; must be able to run after and physically restrain when necessary with training provided. Salary listed as $18.90/hour; location: Northern Lebanon High School, Lebanon, PA. Includes evidence of 20 hours of staff development annually and adherence to program requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
- Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators (PA Department of Education) OR 2 years postsecondary with 48 credit hours OR associate degree or higher OR other approved assessment within 6 months
- Evidence of 20 hours of staff development per school year
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Quality Behavioral Solutions: Safety-Care Crisis Prevention as directed
- Verbal communication skills and ability to follow directions
- Basic computer skills (data entry, internet/email usage, word processing, spreadsheets)
