Job Summary
Full-Time Peer Specialist on Yonkers MCRT (Mobile Crisis Response Team). Responsibilities include crisis response and interventions such as triage, screening, assessment, referrals/linkages, care collaboration with community providers, and follow-up services. Build peer-to-peer connections using lived experience, advocate with a trauma-informed lens, support recovery and wellness goals per SAMHSA’s 8 Dimensions of Wellness, connect participants to appropriate levels of care, perform triage and safety planning with clinicians, provide follow-up, and complete documentation per policies. Requires HS Diploma or equivalent, NYS Peer Specialist Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and 2+ years in recovery from acute care environments. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Standing/walking/climbing stairs during community responses; ability to lift 20–30 lbs; drive across Yonkers/Westchester; perform documentation and field duties in varied environments. Reports to Director of Mobile Crisis Response Team.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or Equivalent
- NYS Peer Specialist Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- 2+ years in recovery from acute care environments
- Completion of the Academy of Peer Services Training and the ability to obtain the NY State Peer Specialist Certification
