Full-time Patient Registration Representative

Job Summary
Greet and register all patients, family members, and visitors for inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures while verifying demographic and insurance information. Collect co-pays, update account details, and ensure admission packets contain required documentation such as consent forms and privacy statements. Correct billing errors in the surgical software system and communicate arrival status to pre-op nursing staff. Direct patients to ancillary departments, answer routine inquiries, and maintain orderly patient files. Perform unit-specific tasks including patient chart completion, service recovery, and lobby area upkeep. Manage time and resources to promote cost effectiveness while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 related healthcare, registration, physician billing, surgical scheduling and/or medical office experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Close vision
