Job Summary
Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care, provide advanced life support, and transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures. Document patient information, maintain a safe and well-stocked environment, and operate an ambulance while adhering to safety policies and laws. Maintain current certifications including ACLS, BTLS, and PALS, and uphold patient confidentiality with a professional appearance. Work 12-hour shifts in Peoria or 24-hour shifts in Pekin and Chillicothe areas, with full-time employees typically working one 36-hour week and one 48-hour week per pay period. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Current Paramedic license in Illinois
- Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- ACLS, BTLS, and PALS certification or ability to obtain
- Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment
