Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on campus to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students in on-campus homes. They provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and follow a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle before transitioning to a placed Houseparent with the same group of students. The role requires a two-person, married-couple team, with relocation assistance and paid training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples
- For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- On-campus housing provided
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
