Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School are a two-person married-couple role living on campus in student homes to supervise 8–13 students. They provide care, guidance, supervision, and support, including medications administration, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and transporting to Sunday Chapel. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a later transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 (approximately $168,000 per couple), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, training, and paid time off. Requires experience with youth, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus. To be considered, both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
