Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of 8–13 students, including daily supervision, mentorship, medications administration, driving to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off cycle, transitioning later to a Placed Houseparent in the same student home, and includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits for both spouses who are legally married for at least two years. Two-person, on-campus position requiring dual employment applications from both spouses; includes budgeting, reporting, and oversight of student routines in a structured, family-like environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
