Job Summary
Two-person married couple needed as Full-time Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School. They will provide care, supervision, and guidance for groups of approximately 8–13 students, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in development and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, and manage household routines and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on/three-off schedule across multiple student homes and may transition into a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (with total compensation around $168,000 per couple), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comply with campus policies on smoking, weapons, and alcohol.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
