Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes ( Electra, TX ) and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 with total couple compensation ~ $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, PTO, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Proven experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
