Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for married couples to reside in on-campus student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, with a work schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; candidates transition to a placed Houseparent role living and working with the same student group. Requires experience with youth, a two-person married couple team, age 27+, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus and alcohol-free duty environment. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; salary per person is $44,768, totaling about $168,000 for the couple including housing and meals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
