Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with nine days on, then three off, and can transition into a placed houseparent within the same student home. This position includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training. Must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, hold a high school diploma or GED, have a valid U.S. driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities emphasize daily supervision, mentorship, chapels/devotions, transportation, and family-like home management in a secure, smoke-free campus environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for a married couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Proven reliability and ability to follow schedules
