Job Summary
Conduct thorough assessments of patients to evaluate mobility, strength, balance, and functional limitations, then develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing specific needs. Provide hands-on therapy and guidance to an average of 7 patients per day, utilizing techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and education. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate documentation of all interventions and patient responses. Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to coordinate comprehensive care for individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Educate patients and their families about treatment strategies and home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care beyond clinical sessions.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Physical Therapy License in New York State
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an outpatient therapy setting
- demonstrated expertise in orthopedic rehabilitation
Desired Qualifications
- A Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
- Experience with therapeutic modalities and advanced treatment techniques, including but not limited to dry needling, kinesiology taping, and manual therapy
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Experience working directly in home care settings
