Job Summary
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities and needs, collaborating with physicians to establish targeted treatment plans. Develop and implement customized therapy programs including manual therapy, exercise interventions, and specialized modalities. Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress notes while periodically assessing treatment effectiveness. Supervise and mentor Physical Therapist Assistants, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to refine intervention strategies. Engage in patient education to promote wellness and prevention strategies. This Full-Time position is based in Salem, Virginia, with core hours Monday to Friday and occasional rotating weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Virginia
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR)
- Familiarity with word processing and computer skills for documentation and communication purposes
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of experience in a physical therapy setting, specifically in outpatient care
- Experience working collaboratively within interprofessional teams to deliver integrated patient care
- Knowledge of current physical therapy methodologies and evidence-based practices
