Job Summary
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients using evidence-based practices to restore physical function. Conduct comprehensive evaluations through diagnostic assessments of muscle, nerve, and joint abilities, while assessing home environments to optimize rehabilitation. Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities such as traction and massage to promote recovery. Oversee physical therapy assistants, ensuring appropriate execution of plans through mentorship. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to review care plans and participate in case conferences. Document patient care activities accurately, including initial evaluations and discharge summaries. Engage clients and families to educate them on therapy protocols and device usage. Work primarily with outpatient clients recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain, or rehabilitating sports injuries.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
- Valid and current physical therapy licensure in the state of Virginia
- Certification in CPR
- Strong foundational knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding physical therapy practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist
