Job Summary
Counselor responsible for assessment, case management, treatment and individual and group counseling for clients and significant others. Essential duties include conducting emergency and biopsychosocial assessments, developing measurable treatment plans, initiating weekly progress notes and treatment plan reviews, conducting open-ended focused small group therapy and individual chemical dependency counseling (including conjoint sessions with significant others), developing comprehensive aftercare and discharge summaries, actively participating in meetings and quality assurance activities, and assessing clients at risk of withdrawal. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, NYS Qualified Health Professional, CPR certification, and two years of alcoholism-field experience; credentialed substance abuse or alcoholism counselor preferred.
