Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluations and establish effective therapy plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Deliver individualized orthopedic rehabilitation by maintaining a manageable load of one patient per hour while implementing evidence-based treatment modalities. Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to discuss progress and modify care plans as necessary. Document patient services thoroughly, instruct patients in exercises for recovery, and monitor evolving conditions to adjust treatment strategies. Promote preventative care and self-management strategies to empower patients in regaining independence.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Degree from an accredited program
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Washington, DC, without any disciplinary actions against your credential
- Strong manual therapy skills
- A thorough understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation
- A robust ability to create effective exercise plans aimed at patient rehabilitation and wellness
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as WebPT for efficient documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting
- A background in sports therapy or experience working with athletes
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and educate patients about their treatment plans and the importance of adherence to therapy
