Job Summary
Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities to create individualized treatment plans for orthopedic recovery. Manage a caseload of patients by providing one-on-one sessions that improve range of motion, strength, and mobility through evidence-based techniques. Document progress meticulously in the WebPT EMR system while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Motivate patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation and educate families on lifestyle modifications. This full-time, onsite role supports patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain in a home care setting within Chantilly, Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- A valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia, with a clean professional record and no disciplinary actions
- Strong proficiency in manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription
- Experience utilizing EMR software, specifically WebPT, for efficient patient documentation
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working within an outpatient orthopedic setting, demonstrating a solid understanding of rehabilitation protocols
- Familiarity with sports medicine practices is a plus, particularly in designing performance-enhancement programs
- Experience working in home care settings, understanding the unique challenges and rewards of therapy in a patient's home
