Job Summary
Evaluate patients to assess physical therapy needs and design individualized treatment plans targeting specific therapeutic goals. Implement therapeutic exercises, hands-on techniques, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Track and document patient progress, adjusting methodologies based on evaluations and feedback while providing education to patients and caregivers regarding rehabilitation processes and assistive devices. Conduct ongoing assessments to re-evaluate goals and modify plans as patients develop. Focus on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Maintain professional knowledge through educational workshops and participation in relevant professional societies.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- A valid State License in Physical Therapy to practice in Virginia
- A minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy with proficiency in word processing and patient documentation systems
- A flexible approach to work, demonstrating the ability to adapt to varying patient needs and departmental demands
