Job Summary
Evaluate patients' functional limitations and customize therapy approaches for orthopedic recovery goals. Implement effective treatment programs using advanced manual therapy techniques and modalities to alleviate pain and restore function. Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans based on patient response, and educate families on home exercises and self-management strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations and outcomes while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and specialists. This role focuses on treating patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions within our outpatient Dulles, VA clinic.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution
- A valid physical therapy license to practice in Virginia
- At least two years of clinical experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in word processing and electronic health record systems
- Ability to establish rapport with patients
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse patient population, particularly in orthopedics
- Additional certifications in specialized therapy areas such as sports therapy or manual therapy techniques
- Proven track record of applying evidence-based practices in patient treatment and outcomes
