Job Summary
Full-Time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. A two-person, legally married couple is invited to reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-consecutive-day on duty schedule followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing and benefits), comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
