Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent couples living on campus to supervise and mentor roughly 8–13 students per home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role over time. Located on Milton Hershey School campus with on-site housing and benefits; relocation assistance and paid training provided. Requires a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27 or older, high school diploma or GED, valid US driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to campus rules (smoke-free, weapon-free, no alcohol). Both spouses must complete individual applications to be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
