Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA (and Ames, IA) to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students, including administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, and leading daily devotions and chapel attendance. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. The position is a two-person, married-couple role with relocation support and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- To consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications
